Core Product Features
- High Palatability: Designed as a chicken-flavored chewable tablet, making it highly appealing to dogs and simplifying daily administration.
- Hypoallergenic Formula: Uses hydrolyzed chicken flavor, ensuring it is safe even for dogs with allergies to chicken protein.
- Precise Dosing: The tablets feature a cross-shaped score line, allowing them to be easily split by hand into 1/2 or 1/4, making it convenient for veterinarians to adjust the exact dose based on the dog's weight and condition.
- Excellent Stability: Split tablets remain stable even outside the blister pack, resisting moisture and degradation to prevent medication waste.
Important Usage & Monitoring Guidelines
- Prescription & Long-Term Management: Cushing's syndrome is a chronic condition that requires lifelong medication management; Trilotab manages the symptoms but does not cure the disease. This is a strict Prescription-Only Medicine (POM-V) and can only be obtained and used under a veterinarian's diagnosis and prescription.
- Regular Blood Monitoring: Dogs require follow-up visits for ACTH stimulation tests or blood work at day 14 and day 30 after starting treatment, and every 3 to 6 months thereafter. This ensures cortisol levels drop to a safe range and prevents overdosing, which can lead to Addison's disease (hypoadrenocorticism).
- Side Effect Observation: If your dog develops symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, extreme lethargy, loss of appetite, or sudden weakness after taking the medication, it may indicate a dose that is too high or an adverse reaction. Stop the medication immediately and contact your veterinarian.
