Elanco Surosolve ear cleaner for Cats & Dogs is specially designed for daily ear cleaning and use in conjunction with ear medication treatments. With a pH of 6.8 (slightly acidic to neutral), it effectively protects the ear canal lining and maintains a balanced microbial flora.

 

This product is intended for topical application on animals. While it is safe for general use, we recommend consulting your veterinarian before use if your pet has any pre-existing health conditions, is pregnant, nursing, or if you have any concerns.

Key Ingredients and Main Functions

  • Tris-EDTA: Disrupts the cell walls of Gram-negative bacteria, breaks down biofilms, and enhances the penetration of subsequent antibiotic ear medications.
  • PCMX (Xylenol): Possesses antibacterial and antifungal effects, helping to maintain the balance of the external auditory canal microbiome.
  • Salicylic Acid: Removes excess keratin, promotes epidermal cell metabolism, and has a drying and astringent effect.
  • Docusate Sodium: Effectively dissolves earwax, softening stubborn secretions and facilitating their removal.
  • Propylene Glycol: Provides moisturizing and hydrating benefits to sensitive ear canal skin.

 

Precautions and Contraindications

  • Never use this product if your pet has a ruptured eardrum. Please consult a veterinarian first.
  • For routine ear canal care only. If you notice severe redness, swelling, abnormal discharge, or discomfort in the ear, discontinue use immediately and seek veterinary attention.
  • This product is not suitable for pregnant or lactating animals.

Direction for use

  1. Inject Ear Cleaning Solution: Unscrew the plastic cap, align the soft tip with the ear canal, and squeeze the bottle to inject a sufficient amount of liquid.
  2. Massage the Ear Base: Gently massage the base of the external ear canal from bottom to top for a few seconds to allow the liquid to fully soften deep-seated earwax.
  3. Let it sit and shake: Let your pet sit for about 1 minute. They will usually shake their head to dislodge deep-seated dirt from their ears.
  4. Wipe the External Ear: Gently wipe away any dirt and remaining liquid from the external ear with cotton or cotton pads. Do not insert cotton swabs deep into the ear canal.
