Dosing and timing depend strictly on the purpose of the medication:

  • Motion Sickness: For travel, a higher dose (minimum 8 mg/kg) is typically given 2 hours before departure. It is approved for dogs 4 months and older.
  • Acute Vomiting: For illness or post-operative recovery, a lower dose (minimum 2 mg/kg) is used once daily. It is approved for puppies 2 months and older.
  • Chemotherapy Support: Often administered an hour before treatment to prevent nausea.

Administration Tips

  • Small Snacks Only: For motion sickness, give with a small amount of food to prevent dosing-related nausea, but avoid a full meal.
  • Don't Tightly Wrap: Avoid wrapping tablets tightly in fatty foods (like cheese or meat), as this can delay the tablet from dissolving.
  • Storage: Store at room temperature (20C - 25C). Half-tablets should be used within 2 days.
