Don’t over-treat. Treats should be supplemental to your pet’s balanced diet and ideally not exceed 10% of daily calories. Reduce regular meal portions accordingly to avoid weight gain. Always supervise your pet when giving treats, especially new ones, to prevent choking. Give treats in between meals, not immediately before or after, for best effect as training rewards. Provide fresh water at all times.
