Dermcare Pyohex® Medicated Conditioner for Dogs

This product is supplied by Acorn Veterinary Hospital.

 

Pyohex® Medicated Conditioner is an aid in the treatment and the prevention of recurrence of superficial bacterial dermatitis associated with Staphylococcus intermedius in dogs.

It is formulated to moisturise the skin while reducing bacterial numbers associated with skin disease.

Pyohex® Medicated Shampoo and Conditioner

Applying Pyohex® Medicated Conditioner to a damp coat after bathing has many benefits:

  • Prolongs the antibacterial action of chlorhexidine containing shampoos, such as Malaseb® and Pyohex®.
  • Aids in preventing the recurrence of skin infections.
  • Improves coat softness.
  • Moisturises the skin.
  • Is non-greasy, may be applied to haired skin and does not attract dirt to the coat. 

 

  1. Pyohex® Medicated Conditioner must be applied to a damp coat after bathing with Malaseb® or Pyohex® Medicated Shampoo.
  2. Place a small amount on to a gloved hand and massage into the coat.
  3. Use approximately 1 ml per Kg bodyweight of the dog.
  4. Do not rinse after application.

 

 

Precautions

  • Use with caution around eyes. If conditioner enters animal’s eye, flush thoroughly with clean water. Seek veterinary advice if eye changes are observed.
  • Distract your dog to avoid licking after application until the coat is dry.
  • Antibiotic therapy is recommended for the initial control of infection or where deep pyodermas exist.
