Protexin Cobalaplex is a veterinary-grade supplement designed to help maintain normal levels of Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) and Vitamin B9 (folic acid) in cats and dogs. It contains prebiotic ingredients to support a healthy gut microbiota.

 

Key Ingredients and Benefits:

  • Cobalamin (Vitamin B12): A water-soluble vitamin that plays a vital role in various physiological processes, including cell metabolism, DNA synthesis, amino acid and fatty acid metabolism, and erythrocyte formation.
  • Folic Acid (Vitamin B9): A synthetic form of folic acid essential for DNA synthesis and repair, playing a key role in cell division and growth.
  • Preplex® Prebiotics: Composed of fructooligosaccharides (FOS) and gum arabic, these prebiotics help support a healthy gut microbiota, thus helping to maintain optimal serum folic acid and cobalamin levels.
  • Artificial Chicken Flavor: According to Protexin Veterinary, artificial chicken flavoring has been added to improve palatability and convenience. It is meat-free and suitable for animals with meat allergies.
The capsules can be given whole or opened, and the palatable contents sprinkled onto food. The number of capsules can be increased or decreased as needed to maintain normal cobalamin (vitamin B12) levels. Your veterinary surgeon will be able to advise further on this.

 

  • <10kg - 1 capsule every other day

  • 10-20kg - 1 capsule daily

  • >20kg - 2 capsules daily
