Dechra DermaBenSs Shampoo is a gentle, soap-free, medicated antibacterial shampoo designed for cats and dogs. It combines benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, and salicylic acid to effectively address various skin conditions such as bacterial infections, oily sebum, and clogged hair follicles.

 

This product is intended for topical application on animals. While it is safe for general use, we recommend consulting your veterinarian before use if your pet has any pre-existing health conditions, is pregnant, nursing, or if you have any concerns.

Key Ingredients and Efficacy

  • 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide: Possesses antibacterial, degreasing, and follicular flushing properties, deeply cleansing microorganisms within hair follicles.
  • 1% Salicylic Acid: Has keratolytic and antifungal properties, helps lower skin pH, and improves hydration.
  • 1% Sodium Thiosulfate: Provides keratoplasticity, and has antibacterial and antiparasitic effects.
  • Ceramide Complex: Contains ceramides 1, 3, and 6II, which help repair the skin barrier, lock in moisture, and hydrate damaged skin.
  • Vitamin E: Provides antioxidant protection against free radicals that damage the skin.

 

Suitable Symptoms

  • Bacterial skin infections: such as pyoderma or staphylococcal infections.
  • Seborrhea-related issues: Oily skin, scaly skin, or greasy seborrhea.
  • Follicular problems: Folliculitis, acne, or Schnauzer acne syndrome.
  • Other: Acute eczematous dermatitis (Hot Spots), licking granuloma, and scabies.
  • Wet your pet with warm water from the neck down
  • Gently massage the shampoo onto the skin
  • Repeat on the entire body and leave on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing
  • Repeat if necessary. Wash hands after use

 

Recommended to use 2-4 times per week initially, and then once per week after symptoms improve.

If skin irritation develops, increases or your cat or dog is uncomfortable, please consult your veterinarian.
